PCSH orientation and Pirate Palooza!

Please join us for Orientation on Wednesday, August 26th! We are excited to see students again and to the start of the school year.

• 9th Grade: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
• All PC Students & Families: 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Orientation for 9th Grade Students

• 9th graders will participate in our LINK program. Incoming 9th grade students should plan to attend the entire morning (8:00am-12:00pm). The purpose of LINK is to make the transition from middle school to high school a positive one. Seniors and Juniors will be serving as leaders and mentors to the freshmen. Large and small group activities are designed to address students’ needs and concerns in an enjoyable manner.  
• Students will get their school picture taken, receive their schedule, get familiar with the building, and more
• Because the event is active, 9th graders are encouraged to keep their backpacks, purses, or other like items at home and to wear comfortable clothing that does not restrict movement
• There will be an informational presentation for parents/caregivers of 9th grade students in the PCSH Auditorium from 11:15 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Pirate Palooza

Students will have their pictures taken and receive their tentative class schedules. We will also have:

• Free food, shirts, haircuts, school supplies, and more
• Activities and Athletics fair
• Informational tables set-up in the from various departments such as Food Services, Health Services, Counselors, SPED, and EL, as well as a wide variety of community partners
• Chromebook distribution and repair - students new to District 279 can pick-up their Chromebook, and any student whose Chromebook needs repair or replacement should bring their device for service
